ROSS THOMAS -- Executive Producer, Creator and Researcher
Queensland born and bred, Ross's mining career took him to Africa and all over Australia. He developed a passion for military history, in particular military mining during the Great War and the forgotten role played by the Australian Mining Corps. This lead to his desire in having the Corps' war contribution acknowledged with the very successful film, Beneath Hill 60, released in 2010. His position as Executive Producer whet his appetite for the film industry and keenness to continue recording Australian military history in films.

JENELLE McCARRICK -- Researcher
Jenelle is an avid history nut, a crack researcher, mad-keen reader and traveller.  Her love for geneaology was triggered in 1999 when her great-aunt sent her an outline of the family history which set her off on a passionate quest to discover more.   Jenelle spent a few years working in feature films and it was on the set of Beneath Hill 60 where she met Ross.  Since that fateful meeting, Jenelle has been madly researching Ross's film and book projects, and gets a kick out of exchanging emails with the descendants of the Holzminden POWs.
Verena VERENA von der HEIDEN -- German Translator and Language Advisor
Verena migrated to Australia in 1999 and started a new career in television as a freelance production manager.  Born and raised in post-war Germany to parents who, due to WWII, had been forced to travel all over Europe, she developed an interest not only in Germany's colourful and not always glorious history, also for foreign languages and German calligraphy. It was in 2009, on the set of Beneath Hill 60, where she met Ross Thomas.  Since then, Verena has been assisting Ross with great enthusiasm with his new project, Faces of Holzminden.
MMelching MICHAEL MELCHING
Michael was born in Holzminden, Germany.  He first became aware of the Holzminden tunnel escape story when he came across a 5 Mark banknote on eBay which had been manufactured as camp currency for use by the POWs.  This piece of history, previously unknown to him, piqued his interest and he set about discovering more.  Michael has been assisting the Faces of Holzminden team and other authors in their research, and has created his own website: www.Holzminden-camp.com.  His mission is to tell young people about this forgotten story of WWI.
